Ben Faber has defended hundreds of criminal cases, from Class A felonies to infractions.
He has had success in handling charges including 2nd Degree Murder, Involuntary Manslaughter, federal drug conspiracy charges, assault, shoplifting, and marijuana possession, as well many others. Ben also focuses his practice in DWI/DUI defense, and is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National College for DUI Defense.
Ben’s approach to defending cases is comprehensive, and begins the moment he first meets a potential client.
He then conducts independent investigations to discover potential defenses, witnesses, and favorable evidence, while at the same time learning each client’s unique circumstances and story to prepare for trial. Next, the State’s evidence is scrutinized for inconsistencies, gaps in time, chain of custody issues, lab errors, witness bias, and constitutional violations. Ben then carefully attempts to negotiate a dismissal of the charges or favorable plea deal, and if he is unable to obtain the desired result for his client, is prepared to take the case to trial, and if necessary, to the courts of appeal.
This comprehensive approach has resulted in dismissals, acquittals, and other favorable results for many of his clients, and has earned Ben a reputation in the community for being an aggressive and creative advocate.
He is an invited speaker at the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys annual DWI Defense Seminar and has given presentations to local radio shows and community groups. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Lawyers for Veterans program, and also volunteers his time as the staff criminal defense attorney for Boone County Veteran’s Court, a treatment-based alternative sentencing court.
